At our launch event at the ICA in September, a topic toured through our panel’s perspectives was the role of apps and their value in a variety of situations to engage different audiences.
Panellist and DICE Founder Phil Hutcheon explained the seemingly obvious (but often overlooked) importance of UX design in making things memorable and sticky. Meanwhile, we heard many in the audience express the common challenge of keeping up the content and frequency of engagement post-download.
Members Arsenal FC became the first Premier League club to launch an application specifically for their younger supporters earlier this year; and the football club fittingly hosted an intimate round table discussion with learnings shared in the Emirates Boardroom, before enjoying dinner and the evening’s match against Watford.
The Round Table attendees included Phil Hutcheon (Founder, Dice), Kris Shaw (Digital Director, Soho House), Rob Philips (Product Manager, the Guardian), Rory Feldman (London City Leader, Amazon Prime Now), Aron Gelbard (Co-founder, Bloom & Wild), Tom Blomfield (Founder, Monzo), Tanya Gilbert (Membership Marketing Manager, Arsenal F.C), Anne-Lise Johnsen (Product Manager - Youth, Arsenal F.C) and Kaj Phoenix (Mobile Product Manager, Arsenal F.C), Hoss Ghonouie (Head of Marketing, Everyman), Annie Goman (UK eCommerce Strategy Manager, AB InBev) andTrevor Stunden (eCommerce Strategist, AB InBev).
We’ll be following up with more content inspired by the afternoon’s conversation.
